Hey all! so this post is a week late! (hides face) but I am still posting about last week’s washday because I want to ensure that I keep track of it all so I’ll be super short and sweet!
Relaxer Stretch Period: 4 weeks post relaxer
So I resumed my protein regimen this week since my last washday was mostly moisture-based.I began by applying my Protein DC ( Carol’s Daughter Monoi Hair Mask, ORS Hair Mayo, ORS Replenishing Conditioner, Profectiv Megastrength Deep Conditioner, Coconut Oil, Tea-tree Oil, Castor Oil, Olive Oil and Africa’s Best Herbal Oil) in four sections while lightly detangling my hair and smoothing the product to my hair shaft. I then left it on for approximately an hour and hopped in the shower.
I shampooed my hair in two sections using the Carols Daughter Monoi Shampoo and my VItaGoods Scalp Massaging Shampoo Brush which left my scalp feeling clean and healthy as always. I then proceeded to condition my hair for about 10 minutes with the Carols Daughter Monoi and the V05 Raspberries Conditioner. This mixture alwasy gives me loads of slip and moisture enabling me to detangle my hair under the shower with ease using my wide tooth comb. I rinsed with cool water and allowed my hair to tshirt dry for about 3 hours.
I then set my hair in my jumbo (7/8″) flexi rods using my Creme of Nature Leave- In Conditioner, Creme of Nature Style and Shine Foaming Mousse, Carols Daughter Hair Milk Styling Butter and Carols Daughter Black Vanilla Pure Hair Oil. , HOWEVER plot twist! I had an errand to run with my family and I really didnt want to go out with my rods but I also didnt want to lose my curls that I just took forever setting and so I resorted to pin curls! It was my first time ever doing pin curls so I was a bit skeptical and nervous but I went forth bravely!
So I unravelled the flexi rods from each section and pincurlled the sections into place, leaving it overnight! The next morning I was pleasantly surprised at my results! My curls came out great, although not the best, but fairly good. It had sections of my hair shaft where the curls were not entirely smooth but for a first timer…. I gave myself a pat on the back!
Here are my results:
I felt a little bit of Hollywood Glam meets the 80s! LOL! All in all, I enjoyed my curls greatly but eventually then just got pulled back into a ponytail, being the protective style freak that I am. However, my ponytail got tonnes of volume and body which I absolutely fell in love with!
And that basically concluded my Washday! See you soon for this week’s washday!
