My Hair Regimen Pt 1- The Routine πŸ’‡πŸΎπŸ™†πŸΎ

Hey guys!!!!! So last year was a year of discovery for me! I spent a lot of time working in my hair’s likes and dislikes as well as seeing what fits into my daily schedule. After a long 365 days, I finally made the  best personally suited regimen that I can for my hair!
 Disclaimer: Everything doesn’t work for the same people’s hair due to differences in texture, density, porosity etc. you get the picture! I am simply sharing in an intention to help someone or at least help them set a foundation upon which to build. Now this is my routine ONLY! I will do another post of my products (which are mostly permanent but may change depending on how my inner- product junkie is doing!) This routine is also not set in stone because as my hair grows longer it tends to need different things but I am hoping to use this routine for as long as possible! So here goes …..

                                                           Relaxer Stetch Weeks 1-8 

Week 1: 

  • Moisturize and seal with the LCO method 3x per week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) 
  • Scalp massage 1x per week (Wednesday) 
  • Hot oil treatment (Saturday night) 
  • Wash hair with scalp massage brush and protein shampoo and conditioner (Sunday) 
  • Detangling under running water 
  • Deep condition with protein treatment (Sunday)
  • Rinse with cool water (Sunday)
  • Tshirt dry( Sunday) 
  • Set with large flexi-rods or rollers (Sunday)
  • Air dry overnight  or  use hooded dryer (Sunday)

Week 2: 

  • Moisturize and seal with the LCO method 3x per week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) 
  • Scalp massage 1x per week (Wednesday) 
  • Steam hair with Q-redew steamer and deep condition with moisture treatment (Saturday night) 
  • Wash hair with scalp massage brush and moisture shampoo and conditioner (Sunday) 
  • Detangle hair under running water 
  • Rinse with cool water (Sunday)
  • Tshirt dry( Sunday) 
  • Set with large flexi-rods or rollers (Sunday)
  • Air dry overnight or use hooded dryer (Sunday)

Week 3:

Week 4:

  • Steam hair with black tea using Q-redrew steamer and deep condition with moisture treatment  (Saturday night) 
  • Wash hair with scalp massage brush and moisture shampoo and conditioner (Sunday) 
  • Detangle hair under running water 
  • Rinse with cool water (Sunday)
  • Tshirt dry( Sunday) 
  • Set with large flexi-rods or rollers (Sunday)
  • Air dry overnight or use hooded dryer (Sunday)

Repeat routine for weeks 1-4 during weeks 4-8!

                                                                                            Weeks 9-13 

Week 9:

  • Moisturize and seal my ends with the LCO method 3x per week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) 
  • Scalp massage 1x per week (Wednesday) 
  • Baggy 2x per week (Monday and Friday) 
  • Hot oil treatment (Saturday night) 
  • Wash hair with scalp massage brush and protein shampoo and conditioner (Sunday) 
  • Deep condition with protein treatment (Sunday)
  • Detangle hair under running water 
  • Rinse with cool water (Sunday)
  • Tshirt dry( Sunday) 
  • Set in protective style (Sunday)
  • Air dry overnight or use hooded dryer (Sunday)

Week 10:

  • Moisturize and seal my ends  with the LCO method 3x per week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) 
  • Scalp massage 1x per week (Wednesday) 
  • Baggy 2x per week (Monday and Friday) 
  • Steam hair with black tea rinse and deep condition with moisture treatment (Sunday) 
  • Wash hair with scalp massage brush and moisture shampoo and conditioner (Sunday) 
  • Detangle hair under running water 
  • Rinse with cool water (Sunday)
  • Tshirt dry( Sunday) 
  • Set in protective style (Sunday)
  • Air dry overnight or use hooded dryer (Sunday)

Week 11:

  • Scalp massage 1x per week (Wednesday) 
  • Baggy 2x per week (Monday and Friday) 
  • Steam hair with black tea rinse and deep condition with moisture treatment (Sunday) 
  • Wash hair with scalp massage brush and moisture shampoo and conditioner (Sunday)
  • Detangle hair under running water  
  • Rinse with cool water (Sunday)
  • Tshirt dry( Sunday) 
  • Set in protective style (Sunday)
  • Air dry overnight or use hooded dryer (Sunday)

Week 13:

  • Inversion method and  scalp massage  7x (All week leading up to my relaxer day) 
  • Protective styling 
  • Baggy with light hot oil treatment 4x (all week) 
  • Steam hair with q-redrew and Detangle (day before relaxer)
  • Add oil once more to coat strands (if necessary) 

Other :

  • Sleep with satin scarf or bonnet nightly 
  • Drink 1.5-2 litres of water daily 
  • Daily biotin supplement : 1,000 mcg 
  • Finger detangling during the week 99% of the times 
  • Dust ends with every relaxer 
  • Trim hair 1-2x per year
